Kell Robotics earns their seventh FIRST Robotics Regional Chairman's Award

Kennesaw, GA, April 4, 2015 — The Kell High School Robotics Team earns a major award at the FIRST® Smoky Mountains Robotics Competition at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Slingshot, the Documentary - Addressing the Challenge for Clean Water

Imagine if clean drinking water could be produced from almost any source - ocean water, polluted rivers, even raw sewage.

In this full length screening of the documentary Slingshot watch as inventor Dean Kamen designs a device that can do just that, and uses it to draw attention to the urgent need for clean water around the world.

Kell Labs

Kell Labs has been upgraded thanks to grants from WIT and Best Buy. The team can now offer experiences in a wide range of tools listed in the accompanying article.

Capability now exists for students to learn coding for robots, android tablets, and games. Students can also learn CAD for design, and animation for movies and rich media experiences.

Students can also learn a little about one of the hottest careers of the future, becoming a data scientist. 

 

 

 

The Extraordinary Women Engineers project (EWEP)

The Extraordinary Women Engineers project (EWEP) is a national initiative to encourage girls to consider pursuing a degree and subsequent career in engineering. The project is led by a coalition of the country’s engineering associations and the American Association of Engineering Societies (AAES), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and WGBH Educational Foundation.

Best Buy Foundation Awards Technology Grant to Kell Robotics

The Best Buy Foundation has provided Kell Robotics with a grant in support of the team’s Big Girl Programming & Computer Science Laboratory. This grant was awarded from the Community Grants program, in partnership with our local Best Buy store, to support programs that give teens access to opportunities through technology.  Thank you Best Buy.

Each EKOCYCLE cartridge turns the equivalent of 3 plastic bottles into your next wearable fashion, music accessory, or desktop décor, embodying and transforming the goal of a cleaner planet into an innovative and creative reality.

Women in Technology awards grant to Kell Robotics

WIT has been a Kell Robotics partner since 2007. We are thrilled to announce that the Women in Technology Foundation Charitable Giving committee has selected the STEM Leadership Foundation, Inc. to receive a in support of the technology upgrades for Kell Robotics’ computer lab.

100 Black Men of Atlanta give award to Kell Robotics Mentor

The 100 Black Men of Atlanta organization recognized the Kell Robotics Team mentor Ed Barker at the 100 Classic Robotics Showcase and Invitational.  This showcase is an outstanding STEM education program sponsored by the 100 organization and Georgia Power.  
 
 
Ed Barker said, "I am honored and moved by this award. It has be great working with the 100 group all of these years working to give students opportunities to pursue their dreams".
