Over 2,000 visitors visited the the Kell Robotics Innovation Center to learn about robots and other STEM activities at Atlanta's Inaugural Science Festival.

February 18, 2014- Albany, GA- Albany Technical College will celebrate Engineering Technology Week with an event on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, beginning at 8:30am in the front of the Nathaniel Cross Health Care Technology Building.

Irma Barker was at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center on Friday to support her namesake, IRMA, at the Palmetto Regional FIRST Robotics Competition.

“I’m here rooting for her,” said Barker, 84, of Conway. “With a name like that, it has to win.”

IRMA the robot was built by students from Carlton J. Kell High School in Marietta, Ga., who named their entry for the mother of their lead mentor, Ed Barker, a Conway High School graduate.

Marietta, GA, March 19, 2012 — The Kell High School Robotics Team and members earned three major awards at the FIRST® Peachtree Regional Robotics Comptition at the Gwinnett Civic Center in Duluth Georgia. FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was started by accomplished inventor Dean Kamen in 1989 to inspire an appreciation of science and technology in young people. The team earned the Peachtree Regional Chairman’s Award for their work in promoting and encouraging STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) education.
