Ed Barker is awarded the NSTA Faraday Science Communicator Award

Science education doesn't just happen in the classroom. It happens in museums, in magazines, on the web and even on TV.

 

Since 2003, when the Discovery Channel teamed with NSTA to create the annual Faraday Science Communicator Award, NSTA has honored individuals who are not classroom teachers but who work in or have developed a compatible setting for science communication—e.g., museum, nature center, zoo, state park, aquarium, radio, television, internet, and other science-rich institutions and/or media. 

 

March 11, 2011, Kell Robotics mentor Ed Barker received the Faraday Science Communicator Award Sponsored by the National Science Teachers Association 

 

This award recognizes and honors an individual or organization that has inspired and elevated the public’s interest in and appreciation of science. The award consists of an all-expense-paid trip to attend the NSTA National Conference on Science Education. Awardees will be honored at the Awards Banquet during the NSTA conference.
