US Congressional Robotics Caucus Briefing
Marietta Ga., October 1, 2010 - The Carlton J. Kell High School Robotics Team of Marietta, Ga., traveled to the US Capital on September 30th to give a briefing to the US Congressional Robotics Caucus. The students demonstrated how they are taking the skills and knowledge acquired in the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition to transform their community, protect the environment, promote STEM education, support national defense, and change the conversation on education, the environment, and energy. The delegation consisted of six students, Kell teacher David Burch, and team mentor Ed Barker. The team left Marietta at 5:00 am, traveled to the Capital, spent 4 hours in the US Capital, and then made their way home arriving back in Marietta at 8:00 pm the same day.
